Over the years, the skin's elasticity decreases while the layer of subcutaneous fat gets thinner. The result is wrinkled, saggy skin, especially in the lower part of the face and neck. The natural wrinkles on the face become more pronounced and so can make you look more tired and miserable. A facelift aims to reduce these age signs.
During a facelift, the skin is released from the underlying structures, which makes it possible to tighten the muscles and place the skin in a new position. To make the scar as invisible as possible, the incision is placed discreetly in the hairline and in front of and behind the ear. A facelift is performed under light anesthesia and takes just over two hours; you will spend the first night after the procedure in the clinic.
After the operation, you will receive clear instructions for aftercare. When you book a facelift through the Adoreal app, you will also find all the information there. Here is what you should generally think about.
Cooling bandages are used immediately after the operation to reduce swelling. The first bandage is changed in the morning before going home and replaced with a new one that will remain in place until the first return visit.Visible stitches in front of the ears are removed at the first return visit after one week, and stitches behind the ears are removed after two weeks.Swelling and bruising are expected to occur on the cheeks and neck and gradually disappear within one to two weeks.
