Sunken eyebrows, deep vertical folds in your forehead and wrinkles between the eyes can be remedied with a forehead lift. The procedure is done under light anaesthesia and local anaesthesia and takes about an hour and a half. Overnight stays are not considered necessary.
Through two short incisions by the temple area, either at the hairline or more usually a few centimetres inside the hairline, the skin and musculature are released, stretched backwards and placed in a higher position whereby the eyebrows are raised and the folds are smoothed out.
Some swelling occurs for a few days after the operation, otherwise you are relatively trouble free. The stitches are taken out after two weeks. Exercise and other vigorous strain should be avoided during the first two weeks, which is also an appropriate period of sick leave.
